2020 Edition of Honda City Unveiled in Thailand : See features
The 2020 Honda City may single-handedly fend off competition, not just in the sedan segment but also lure people away from the sub-compact SUV segment.
The car was recently unveiled in Thailand with extremely contemporary design changes, premium cabin and new engine options that promise to make the fifth-generation City more desirable than ever before. Honda has bet big on the City, quite literally.

The new City is 100 mm longer than the outgoing model and is also wider by 55 mm. What it gains in terms of length and breadth, the car loses in height and wheelbase. The former has come down by 28 mm while the other is down by 11mm.
The 2020 City gets a new design language that inherits certain elements from the outgoing model and blending it with what one has already seen in some of the other Honda cars. There is a bold chrome chunk right at the nose, similar to the one on Amaze, while the head lights are now razor sharp and with LEDs and daytime running lights. While these give the City a very purposeful look, the front bumper underneath appears rather unimaginative in comparison.
The rear lights on the 2020 City gets LED elements while the overall design is similar to the visual element of the outgoing model – clean and simple.
The car sits on diamond-cut alloy wheels and the India-bound model get the same tyre as was seen on the outgoing model.
On the inside, Honda have once again chosen to keep the profile minimalistically aesthetic. An 8-inch touchscreen is complimented by vertical air vents while there are two USB slots and a 12V power socket. The model unveiled in Thailand sported a dashboard in black finish but the India-bound model may get the familiar beige and brown colour theme.
The 2020 City in Thailand gets a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine option which produces 122 hp and torque of 173 Nm. A 1.5-litre petrol engine is also available while in India, Honda may also bring in the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that is found on the outgoing model. This will have to be compliant with BS 6 norms.
