COVID-19 alert! 59 students, 10 school staff test positive in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru

Chikkamagaluru: Amid concerns about ‘Omicron,’ 69 people, including 59 students and 10 staff members, tested positive for COVID-19 at a Jawahar Navodaya School in Chikkamagaluru, according to a health official.

 

“In this residential school, we collected 457 samples, 69 of which tested positive. There are 59 students and 10 staff members in total “Chikkamagaluru District Health Official Dr Umesh said.

The COVID-19 positives are asymptomatic and have been moved to separate blocks in accordance with home isolation protocols. We separated the students and kept them in isolation in a separate block as soon as we received the information. We’ve sent out our medical and paramedic teams. All of the infected students are asymptomatic. We are treating them in accordance with the home isolation protocol “Dr. Umesh stated. ”

“We’ll take a follow-up sample in a week.” “We have taken all precautionary measures in accordance with Karnataka government guidelines,” he added.

On Sunday, 29 students at a private nursing school in Shivamogga, Karnataka, tested positive for COVID-19. In order to reduce the spread of the infection, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has declared that any area with three or more COVID-19 cases will be designated as a cluster.

Meanwhile, Karnataka reported 397 new COVID-19 cases, 277 recoveries, and four deaths on Saturday. According to the health department, there are 7,012 active cases.
