Update on Aadhaar Cards: How to Protect Yourself From Financial Frauds

New Delhi: The Aadhaar card is unlike any other document; its widespread adoption and service connection have aided the government in facilitating India’s digitalization effort. From your PAN to your bank account, everything is linked to your Aadhaar UID, and the process, which previously required trips to offices, can now be completed online while sitting in the comfort of your own home.

However, some people have used the Aadhaar and PAN card details for illegal purposes. People’s Aadhaar and PAN numbers have been illegally taken and used to commit financial fraud in their names on numerous occasions. Illegally obtained data was used to obtain a small loan and financing services without the knowledge of the person whose PAN and Aadhaar details were used.

As a result, it’s critical to avoid such scams and protect your personal information. There are a few things you can do if you’re concerned about the security of your documents, such as your PAN and Aadhaar.

– Under no circumstances should you share your Aadhaar or PAN number with anyone. This type of information could be used to commit fraud.

– Don’t forget to get your Aadhaar and PAN verified at the photocopier or wherever you need them. We sometimes forget to return our ID cards, putting our personal information at risk of being used fraudulently.

Don’t give out your Aadhaar number to unknown websites or platforms.

– Keep track of your CIBIL score and financial transactions.

-If you notice anything suspicious in your CIBIL, call the cops immediately.

– In any case, do not share the One Time Password sent to your contact information with anyone, especially if it relates to Aadhaar, PAN, or financial transactions.

The Unique Identification Authority of India, which manages Aadhaar, and other government organizations have issued numerous advisories to ensure the security of people’s personal data. Keep track of such actions, and if you have any concerns about how your data is being used, contact the appropriate authorities as soon as possible. Waiting may give the fraudster time to commit a crime using your information in such cases.
