Onam bonus; Govt employees will get Rs 4,000

The government employees will get the benefit of Rs 4,000 as an Onam bonus, informed finance minister K N Balagopal. Those government employees, who are not entitled to the bonus, would get Rs 2,750 as a special festival allowance. All government employees will get Rs 20,000 as an advance.

The advance for other part-time and contingent employees is Rs 6,000. Rs 1,000 will be given as a festival allowance for service pensioners and employees who retired as per the contributory pension scheme. The special fund will benefit nearly 13 lakh people employed in the government sector.
