In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 7,350 new COVID-19 cases and 202 deaths

New Delhi: According to data released by the Ministry of Health on Monday, India recorded 7,350 new COVID-19 cases and 202 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 3,46,97,860 and the total death toll to 4,75,636. (December 13, 2021). Today, the country also recorded 7,973 recoveries.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 case count has decreased by 825 cases. The active caseload is 91,456.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.37 percent, the highest since March 2020, according to the Health Ministry. The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 0.86 percent. For the past 70 days, it has been less than 2%.

The positivity rate for the week was 0.69 percent. According to the ministry, it has been less than 1% for the past 29 days.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,41,30,768, with a case fatality rate of 1.37 percent.

Furthermore, the total number of doses administered in the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has surpassed 133.17 crores.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a warning that the new Omicron coronavirus strain, which is now present in 63 countries, will outstrip Delta in terms of spread speed.

According to Sputnik, “as of December 9, 2021, cases of human infections with this variant have been identified in 63 countries across all six WHO regions.” The organization went on to say that it is still unclear why the new strain is spreading so quickly.

“However, given the current available data, Omicron is likely to outpace the Delta variant where community transmission occurs,” the document stated.
