Four more cases of Omicron have been reported in Delhi, bringing the total number of cases to six

New Delhi: On Tuesday (December 14, 2021), Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain announced that four new cases of Omicron had been reported in the national capital.

All four people have travelled to foreign countries.
According to Jain, the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has not yet spread in the community and the situation is under control.

This brings the total number of cases of the new COVID-19 variant in Delhi to six.

Jain also stated that 35 COVID-19 positive patients and three suspected cases of Omicron are currently being treated at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital.

Earlier in the day, officials announced that Delhi’s first Omicron variant patient, a 37-year-old man, had been discharged from the LNJP Hospital.

On December 2, the man, a Ranchi resident, flew from Tanzania to Doha and then to Delhi on a Qatar Airways flight. He stayed in Johannesburg, South Africa, for a week and experienced only minor symptoms.

Notably, the LNJP hospital has been designated for the treatment of patients infected with the new Omicron variant of COVID-19.

A 35-year-old man from Zimbabwe and South Africa tested positive for Omicron, making him the second patient in the national capital to be infected with the new variant.
