The Union Cabinet has approved an electoral reform bill that will connect a citizen’s Aadhaar card to their voter identification cards. The Indian Election Commission proposed giving voters four chances to register each year. Citizens must register to vote once they reach the age of 18.

The election legislation is gender-neutral for service voters. Individuals can link their Aadhaar numbers to their voter IDs by visiting booth level officers in their area or using the national voter service web, SMS, phone, or by visiting the national voter service web.

Link Aadhaar to a voter ID card via the National voter service portal:
