Kerala Experiences Isolated Heavy Rainfall; Yellow Alert in Two Districts

The Central Meteorological Department has issued a warning indicating the potential for isolated heavy rainfall across Kerala today. A yellow alert has been issued for Malappuram and Kannur districts, with the possibility of heavy rainfall particularly in hilly areas. Rainfall with thunder and lightning is also anticipated.

Fishermen and residents along the coast are advised to exercise caution due to the likelihood of high waves and rough seas along the Kerala coastline. Fishing activities are permitted without restrictions along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. The active rainfall in the state is attributed to the influence of a low-pressure system over Southeastern Jharkhand and a cyclonic circulation over the Comorin region.
