Omicron in Delhi: 3 positive patients have no travel history

According to Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, three of the 34 Omicron variant cases reported so far have no travel history.

Three of the total Omicron positive cases in the city’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital have no travel history and have never been abroad, he said.

There may be additional cases in other hospitals because the Delhi government has designated four additional private hospitals for treatment. “We’re gathering data from these hospitals as well,” he said, adding that 17 patients had been discharged.

However, according to a statement issued by the union health ministry on Tuesday, the national capital has reported 54 cases of Omicron infection thus far. According to the ministry, the number of cases of the new Covid strain in the country has surpassed 200. According to the ministry, 77 of them have recovered or migrated.

According to the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra and Delhi have each recorded 54 cases of Omicron variant, while Telangana has 20, Karnataka has 19, Rajasthan has 18, Kerala has 15, and Gujarat has 14.
Given the steady rise in Omicron infection, the Delhi government announced on Monday that all Omicron positive samples will now be sent for genome sequencing. “The Delhi government has decided to send all Omicron positive samples for genome sequencing right away, and we have adequate arrangements in place,” Minister Jain said.
