Apple has begun trial production of the iPhone 13 in India, with the device expected to be available early next year

New Delhi: Apple has begun assembling its new flagship iPhone 13 in India, as the technology behemoth prepares to manufacture/assemble its top-of-the-line smartphones in the country.

According to industry sources, the iPhone 13 is being assembled on a trial basis at the Foxconn plant in Chennai, in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India.’

Foxconn is the company’s largest global manufacturing partner.

According to the sources, the made-in India iPhone 13 will be available in the domestic market as well as for exports from the country by early next year.
After three to four months of global and domestic launch, Apple typically begins assembling new and environmentally friendly iPhones in India.

According to reports, Apple is increasing the production of iPhones, iPods, Macs, and other devices in India and Vietnam in order to reduce its reliance on China.

The tech giant is already assembling its best-selling models, the iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and XR, as well as the iPhone SE, 7, and 6S, in India.

With the release of the iPhone SE in 2017, Apple began manufacturing iPhones in India.

The Apple iPhone 13 series, for which pre-orders opened on September 17 in India, received a record response.

The iPhone 13 had a 3% market share in Q3, and the newly launched series was set to break all records in the country’s festive quarter (Q4).

According to market research firm CyberMedia Research, Apple experienced a whopping 150% growth (on-quarter) in iPhone sales in India during the July-September period (Q3), shipping over 1.53 million units (CMR).

On a year-over-year (YoY) basis, iPhone sales increased by 28%.

iPhones are expected to have a 3.5 percent market share in India for the entire year.

The iPhone 13 starts at Rs 79,900 for 128GB storage, Rs 89,900 for 256GB storage, and Rs 1,09,900 for 512GB storage.
