Habits that are damaging your eyes permanently

Eye sight is one of the most beautiful senses  so is our responsibility to take  good care of it . The digitalization of all activities during pandemic led to an increase in screen time which raised concerns about the deterioration of eye health. Here are some habits causing harm to your eyes:

Poor diet

Proper diet is important for eyes because various micronutrients are essential for the regulation of good eye health. To maintain healthy eyesight eat foods rich in vitamin C, zin, lutein, omega-3 fatty acids, and zeaxanthin. Some foods that can be consumed include citrus fruits, salmon, green leafy vegetables,  nuts, etc.

Not wearing protective wear

The eyes are exposed to different harmful elements and activities every single day swimming, welding, sports, etc can put the eyes at risk of sustaining injury so shield the eyes from any possible hazard by wearing sunglasses, laser safety glasses, goggles, and other types of protective eye wear.

Rubbing the eyes

Do you rub your eyes hard enough that galaxies have started flashing before you? If yes you are damaging the blood vessels present under the skin’s surface.

Not giving eyes rest

Many are looking at digital screens uninterrupted for hours thus interrupting  of getting inadequate amounts of sleep among people. This can cause the eyes to suffer severely and put them at risk of dryness, itchiness, irritation, blurriness, and redness.
