Kerala has set aside Rs 3.2 crore for the care of 87 orphaned children as a result of Covid

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government announced on Friday that it has sanctioned Rs 3.2 crore for financial assistance to 87 children who have lost parents due to Covid.
State Health Minister Veena George stated that a sum of Rs 3 lakh would be deposited in the names of the children, and monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 would be provided until the children reached the age of 18.

“Aside from this assistance, the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund will cover their education expenses until graduation. Those who became eligible include children who lost their parents due to Covid, as well as anyone (parent) who died of post-Covid complications within three months of turning Covid negative, and similar cases in which if a child has also lost a single parent, “She stated.
