Pankhuri Shrivastava, the founder of Grabhouse and Pankhuri, died at the age of 32

Pankhuri Shrivastava, the founder of a women-focused social community platform called iPankhurii and the startup Grabhouse, died on December 24 at the age of 32.

Shrivastava previously founded Grabhouse, which was sold to online classifieds company Quikr in 2016 in a cash and equity deal.

Yesterday, it came as a shock to me when I found out that @pankhuri16 is no more. I remember her as a vivacious bright woman full of ideas and full of life. She was confident. That was something you noticed about her immediately,” Vani Kola, founder of Kalaari Capital, tweeted on Sunday.

“Her demise is a loss for our startup ecosystem. We lost a bright and young founder, but I know her legacy will live on. It was truly a privilege to know Pankhuri,” Kola posted in the tribute on US-based microblogging platform Twitter.

The 32-year-old serial entrepreneur is credited with creating the ‘Pankhuri’ brand for female members to socialise.

“My heart goes out to her family in this untimely tragedy,” Kola added.

Pankhuri earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from RGTU in Bhopal. She also taught in Mumbai municipal schools as part of Teach for India’s fellowship programme.

“This unexpected loss has deeply saddened and shocked me. Pankhuri was full of life, ideas, and passion, and he was a missionary at heart. We loved having Pankhuri as part of our Surge family, and we will miss you terribly. In this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with her family “Sequoia India’s Managing Director, Ranjan Anandan, mentioned it in a tweet.
