Most of us have at least once fallen in love with our best friend. And this appears to be a difficult situation to be in. We all worry about losing a friend in the end, whether we keep our feelings hidden or lie about them.
Most of the time, however, it becomes necessary to confess your feelings in front of your best friend. Not only that, but it will save you from unwarranted jealousy when your best friend is dating someone else, as well as the insecurities that come with losing them.
So, gather your courage and confess your feelings to your best friend in one of these four ways.
Make subtle ideas to them.
The first step in confessing your love to your best friend is to send them subtle cues. It can be through healthy flirting or by showing them a little extra care, whatever you feel is appropriate. It should, however, be kept low-key, and once you believe the time has come, you can tell them straight; after all, they are already expecting this from you.
Meet at your favourite location and inform them
We all have a favourite hangout spot where we always go with our best friends. Whether it’s a café or a nearby garden, the setting appears to be heaven. So, when you’re ready to confess your feelings, ask your friend to meet you at your favourite spot and explain why you’re both here. Never say the three magical words outright; instead, explain how you’ve begun to see them differently. However, don’t beat around the bush; instead, get to the point.
A letter accompanied by a gift is ideal.
Give them their favourite item and don’t forget to include a sweet letter expressing your feelings. While some of you may think it’s an old-fashioned way of confessing love, trust us when we say that old is gold. Unless your best friend is a bit tech-savvy, a letter can never go wrong. Begin your letter by explaining what happened and when it happened, but do not invite them out. Simply express their emotions and leave the rest to them. If they feel the same way about you, they will reciprocate or let you know; if you do not receive an answer, be content with the fact that you two can still be friends.
In the middle of the night, call them.
There is no such thing as a good time to call your best friend. You have complete freedom to message them all night or call them at 3 a.m. for no reason. That, after all, is the beauty of friendship. So, if you don’t get a chance to confess your feelings in person, call your best friend late at night when they are free and tell them how you’ve been feeling lately. Don’t make it awkward by telling them things they don’t need to know; just do it beautifully, without any ifs and buts.
While the aforementioned methods will undoubtedly come in handy if you are looking for ways to confess your love, it is always a good idea to first determine how your friend will react to it. If they are already in a relationship, either refrain from doing so or do it solely to express your emotions. You should not expect them to say yes simply because you are friends. Also, don’t keep emphasising that this will never change your relationship, and don’t ask them about it because it will only make things worse for you. Allow everything to happen naturally.
