India reports 33,750 new COVID-19 cases and 123 deaths; the Omicron tally now stands at 1,700

According to data released by the Ministry of Health on Monday, India recorded 33,750 new COVID-19 cases and 123 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 4,81,893. (January 3, 2022). There are currently 1,45,582 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has increased by 22,781 cases. Today, the country recorded 10,846 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,42,95,407.

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 175 new Omicron infections, bringing the total number of such cases in the country to 1,700. According to the Health Ministry, at least 639 people have recovered.

Maharashtra had the most Omicron cases, with 510, followed by Delhi (351), Kerala (156), Gujarat (136), and Tamil Nadu (121).
