Intense testing is being conducted in order to reduce Covid infection in the state.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala state Health Minister Veena George has asked all close contacts of people who have tested positive for Covid-19, as well as those who have Covid-19 symptoms, to participate in the intensive screening drive on Thursday and Friday.

They are required to take the test. The state government intends to conduct 3.75 lakh tests in two days. The general public can take tests at existing testing centres, mobile labs, or designated testing camps. The district medical officers have made all necessary preparations for the test. For clarification, the minister suggested contacting a nearby health worker or dialling Disha 104 or 1056.

The drive is being organised to reduce the spread of infection and return life to normalcy, according to the minister. All centres perform antigen and RT-PCR tests. People who have respiratory or other serious illnesses should be tested because infection can be more severe for them.
