Stripped, Hair Chopped off; Villagers Punish Married Woman for Eloping with Another Man

In Arunachal Pradesh a women was declared guilty by a Kangaroo court. She eloped with a married man in order to get a better life. She said husband used to brutally assault her everyday. Even had 2 miscarriage when he kicked her abdomen.

When eloped couple came back as per family’s wish, whole  village gathered ,some elderly women pulled her out of the vehicle and ripped apart her clothes as soon as she reached his village.

She was bathed with cold water in  night and then the elderly women chopped off her hair as a punishment . Then women took turns to tear off the remaining clothes, stripping her naked. When she tried to hide herself with her hands, few among the crowd hurled abuses demanding her to raise her hands. They were filmed, made them sleep naked without food till morning.

Police has prepared a list of 38 people involved in this crime based on the FIR filed. Of which, 15 people have been arrested nine are women.
