The Supreme Court Friday granted anticipatory bail to actress Sherlyn Chopra in the porn films racket case. A bench of Justices Vineet Saran and Aniruddha Bose issued notice to the Maharashtra government on the appeal filed by Ms Chopra against a Bombay High Court order rejecting her anticipatory bail.

Advocate Sunil Fernandes, appearing for Ms Chopra, submitted that protection has already been given to other accused in the case. Ms Chopra has been arrayed as an accused in the FIR along with actor Poonam Pandey. Ms Pandey was given protection from arrest by the top court on January 18.
