The largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters in the world, Hero MotoCorp has announced a new electric mobility brand named Vida. During the launching CEO, Hero MotoCorp explained Vida will serve as a new identity for the company’s novel mobility solutions, including upcoming electric vehicles. In addition to debuting the new brand, Dr Pawan Munjal also announced a $100 million global sustainability fund.
This fund, Munjal explained, will be used to set up global partnerships in pursuit of the goal to encourage entrepreneurs for ESG solutions that will aid the planet. The company also said the first Hero MotoCorp electric vehicle will be unveiled on 1 July 2022 and that this upcoming Vida electric two-wheeler will be manufactured at the company’s ‘Green’ manufacturing facility in Chittoor, India. The automaker even noted that it will start customer deliveries of its upcoming EV in India sometime later in 2022.
