Indian student injured after being shot in Kyiv informed Union Minister VK Singh

An Indian student has been hospitalised after being shot with a bullet in Ukraine’s Kyiv in the ongoing conflict. This comes a few days after an Indian student lost his life in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Speaking exclusively to media, Minister of State (MoS) for Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) General VK Singh revealed the information at Poland’s Rzeszow airport on Thursday. Meanwhile, the minister informed The Indian govt is trying for maximum evacuation at a minimum loss.

The Minister also informed that 4 flights will depart from Rzeszow tomorrow and 1 from Warsaw. We are trying to evacuate 800-900 students as they don’t have spaces to stay here, the minister said adding that a temporary arrangement has been made. In the last three days, 7 flights have arrived in India carrying around 200 Indian citizens on each flight.

Some students who reached Warsaw and have their relatives and friends there have decided to stay here, Singh said. On March 1, Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudar, a 21-year-old medical student from Karnataka, was killed in Russian shelling. Naveen was standing in the queue for food in Ukraine’s Kharkiv when the attack took place. The students are currently fleeing from war-ravaged Ukraine and trying to reach the border of neighbouring countries for their safe return to India.
