Director Antony Eastman passes away at 75

Antony Eastman, a film director and producer, died on Saturday in Thrissur. He was 75 years old. Antony was also well-known for his work as a writer and still photographer. He died of cardiac arrest in Thrissur, according to reports. His funeral will take place later.

He directed six Malayalam films. With ‘Inayethedi,’ he made his directorial debut. This film introduced many people to the industry, including popular actress Silk Smitha and music director Johnson.

Other films include ‘Vayal,’ ‘Ambada Njaane,’ ‘Varnatheru,’ ‘Ice Cream,’ and ‘Mridula.’

His most popular film was ‘Amabada Njaane,’ which starred Shankar, Menaka, Nedumudi Venu, and Thilakan.

‘Ee Thanalil Ithiri Neram’ and ‘Thaskara Veeran’ were written by Antony. He directed the film ‘Parvathiparinayam.’
