Karunya Benevolent Fund Scheme has been extended till March 31, 2023. The financial assistance is available to APL and BPL persons who are not covered under the Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi (KASP) scheme and have an annual income of less than Rs 3 lakh. The financial aid for a family is Rs 2 lakh.
Kidney transplant recipients will get Rs 3 lakh. Medical assistance is available through the Karunya scheme at government hospitals and empanelled private hospitals. After the acquisition by the State Health Agency, the scheme provided treatment worth Rs 109.66 crore on 1,90,123 claims. At present, 650 hospitals have been empanelled, including 198 government hospitals and 452 private hospitals.
