Inclusivity Takes Center Stage at IFFI: Indian Panorama Movies Offered in Preferred Languages

The 54th Goa International Film Festival (IFFI) is embracing inclusivity with the introduction of a unique feature for audiences to enjoy Indian Panorama movies in the language of their preference. This innovative facility is made possible through a partnership with the ‘Cinedubs’ mobile application, allowing festival-goers to watch films with audio in their desired Indian language while following along with subtitles. It’s a first-of-its-kind offering at the festival, promoting a more inclusive and diverse cinematic experience.

IFFI festival director Pradhul Kumar shared the exciting news, highlighting that attendees can now immerse themselves in films across various Indian languages, thanks to the availability of languages within the app. This enhancement to the festival experience aims to make it more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience.

This year’s Goa International Film Festival will take place from November 20 to 28 and promises a diverse and engaging selection of films. The event continues to evolve to meet the diverse needs of its audience, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity.

In addition to this fantastic development, the festival is also focused on providing a better experience for differently-abled individuals. The efforts to create an inclusive festival extend to various aspects of the event.

The 54th IFFI is set to be a memorable and diverse celebration of cinema, featuring over 270 films from around the world. Among the highlights of the festival, Hollywood actor Michael Douglas will be honored with the Satyajit Ray lifetime achievement award.

The Indian Panorama section, where audiences can enjoy films in their preferred language, will feature several outstanding Malayalam films. “Kaathal,” “Malikappuram,” and “Aattam,” directed by Anand Ekarshi, will be among the films screened in this esteemed section. “Aattam” will be the inaugural film for this special cinematic experience.

The introduction of language preferences for Indian Panorama films at IFFI underlines the festival’s dedication to making the event more accessible and enjoyable for a broader audience, fostering a truly inclusive celebration of cinema.
