Airfare from UAE to Kochi Drops to Rs 6,000, Delighting Expatriates
Expatriates residing in the United Arab Emirates are rejoicing as the airfare from the UAE to Kerala has experienced a significant drop, with tickets available from Rs 6,000 onwards. This reduction in prices represents a substantial decrease compared to the high fares witnessed during the Christmas-New Year holiday season, amounting to roughly one-fifth of the previous rates. The discounted airfares apply to various services, and some airlines may offer last-minute tickets at even more budget-friendly rates. Families can now take advantage of this affordability, with a four-member family able to fly to Kerala (one-way) for approximately Rs 25,000. The decreased airfares are expected to persist, offering expatriates a more economical means of travel between the UAE and Kerala.
As of January 17, Air India Express has been offering the lowest airfare, providing online tickets from Abu Dhabi to Kochi at just Rs 5,978 (264 dirhams). This cost includes the fare for carrying 30 kg of luggage and 7 kg of hand baggage. Although the price was slightly higher when attempting to register directly on the airline’s website, it remained budget-friendly at Rs 6,107 (270 dirhams). While other airlines may charge a bit more, the overall trend indicates a favorable reduction in airfare for expatriates traveling between the UAE and Kerala. On the flip side, ticket fares from Kerala to the UAE continue to rise, reaching Rs 30,000 or more for one-way trips on certain airlines like Spice Jet and Indigo, underscoring the challenges airlines face in meeting the growing demand on this route.
