Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by Rs 158, Providing Relief to Consumers

In a significant development benefiting consumers, Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reduced the cost of 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 158, according to reliable sources. These revised prices will be effective immediately, with the retail price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now being Rs 1,522.

Previously, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the central government had lowered the price of Domestic LPG by Rs 200 as a gesture towards the women of the nation. Both commercial and domestic LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinder prices are revised monthly, with the updated rates taking effect from September 1. Earlier in August, OMCs had already reduced the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 99.75.

In July, there was a nominal increase of Rs 7 in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. Prior to this increase, there were two consecutive price reductions for commercial LPG cylinders in May and June of this year. In May, OMCs had reduced the price of a commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 172, followed by a reduction of Rs 83 in June.

In April, prices were also lowered by Rs 91.50 per unit. It’s worth noting that on March 1 of this year, petroleum and oil marketing companies had raised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 350.50 per unit and domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 50 per unit.
