COVID vaccination on children: 6.50 lakh skip the second dose
The COVID vaccination drive for children aged 12-14 years has received a cool response in Kerala, around 6.5 lakh skip the second dose. Meanwhile, the government has targeted to vaccinate 10.11 lakh children in the drive. Corbevax has been administered for this age group. But the data revealed that only 3.61 lakh children are fully vaccinated.
It is learnt that 6.50 lakh beneficiaries in this age group have skipped their second dose in the state. While 7.11 lakh children have taken the first jab. Alappuzha has the highest number of fully vaccinated children in the 12-14 age category. Only 18 per cent has not taken the second dose. While Malappuram has the lowest number of fully vaccinated children. 88 per cent of them have not taken the second dose.
