Ankle injury; Deepak Chahar out of SA ODIs

Senior seamer Deepak Chahar is likely to miss the remaining two games of the ODI due to a twisted ankle sustained during a training session before the first match against South Africa in Lucknow. Chahar wasn’t a part of the Indian playing XI as Shikhar Dhawan’s side lost by nine runs in the opening match with the visitors scoring 250 in just 40 overs.

As of now, Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement in the T20 World Cup squad is Mohammed Shami, who is slowly and surely getting match-fit and is expected to fly to Australia within the next three to four days. As per India’s training schedule in Perth, they will have three days of rigorous training for five hours between 11 am to 4 pm on October 8, 9 and 12, while on October 10 and 13, two T20 warm-up games will be held.
