Low Pressure System in Bay of Bengal Prompts Yellow Alert in 6 Districts

The Central Meteorological Department has issued a warning of potential isolated heavy rainfall in the state, leading to the declaration of a yellow alert in several districts over the next few days. Today, a yellow alert is in effect for six districts. It is anticipated that the low-pressure system will shift northward in the next 24 hours.

Yellow alerts have been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts for heavy rain at isolated locations from September 5th to 9th. Specifically, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts are currently under the yellow alert.

The Central Meteorological Department has forecasted yellow alerts for the following days: Thursday in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts; Friday in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts; and Saturday in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts.
