Mercedes-Benz India Records Remarkable Sales Growth Amidst Challenges

Mercedes-Benz India has reported an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 11 percent for the period January to September. Despite challenges such as supply chain disruptions affecting key SUV models like GLA, GLC, and GLS, the luxury car manufacturer sold a total of 12,768 vehicles during this period. The demand for their top-end vehicles, including S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, AMGs, and EQS, contributed significantly to their sales, constituting 25 percent of the total sales. Additionally, the ‘core luxury’ segment performed well, with the LWB E-Class emerging as a star performer, alongside the newly launched GLC. However, Mercedes-Benz India faced supply-demand imbalances, especially with exclusive models like the Mercedes-AMG G 63 ‘Grand Edition,’ which sold out all 25 allocations within a mere 6 minutes, leaving many elite customers disappointed.

To enhance its brand appeal and engage with customers, Mercedes-Benz India launched a Sustainability Fest throughout October. This initiative focuses on promoting sustainability and involves unique customer experiences such as golf tournaments and dinners hosted in solar-powered venues, highlighting the brand’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2039. The company is also offering a sustainability loyalty bonus to customers transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Additionally, Mercedes-Benz India has partnered with the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai to provide exclusive cultural and artistic experiences to its customers, showcasing the brand’s dedication to customer engagement beyond the realm of automobiles.

Amidst these initiatives, Mercedes-Benz India plans to launch two more vehicles during Diwali, emphasizing their commitment to providing new and exciting offerings to their customers. These strategic moves solidify Mercedes-Benz’s position as one of India’s most sought-after luxury automobile brands, ensuring a strong presence in the market despite challenges.
