In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 38,949 new COVID cases, including 542 deaths

New Delhi: According to data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Friday (July 16), the number of COVID-19 cases has increased slightly, bringing the total number of active cases to 4,30,422.

There were also 542 coronavirus-related fatalities and 40,026 recoveries in the country. As a result, India’s overall number of cases has risen to 3,10,26,829.

According to the ministry, 19,55,910 tests were done on Thursday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the country to 44,00,23,239, with a daily positivity rate of 1.99 percent.

It stated that the optimism rate has been less than 3% for 25 days in a row. According to the health ministry, the weekly positive rate is 2.14 percent.

According to the data, the number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has climbed to 3,018,83,876, while the case fatality rate has increased to 1.33 percent.

So far, 39.53 crore vaccine doses have been delivered as part of the statewide vaccination campaign against COVID-19.

Last year, India’s COVID-19 tally reached 20 lakh on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

Last year, it topped 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.
On May 4, India passed the two-crore-case mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore-case mark.
