Former CM Oommen Chandy airlifted to Bengaluru for further treatment

Former Kerala chief minister and veteran Congress leader Oommen Chandy was airlifted on Sunday to Bengaluru for advanced treatment. The move comes days after he was admitted to a private hospital in Neyyattinkara following allegations that his family denied him proper treatment.

Chandy was taken to the Karnataka capital by air ambulance from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The Puthuppally MLA will be admitted to HCG Oncology Centre in Bengaluru, where he was seeking treatment for cancer after the laser surgery in Germany he underwent last year. Meanwhile, Oommen Chandy once again dismissed allegations of denying proper care. The allegations levelled against his family were baseless, he said.
