Rohit Sharma scripts history; complete 17,000 international runs

India captains Rohit Sharma on Saturday, March 11 achieved a new milestone when he completed 17,000 runs in international cricket. Rohit became the 7th Indian batter to hit 17,000 international runs when he reached the landmark on Day 3 of the 4th Test between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rohit joined an elite list of Indian batters, including Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, who scored more than 17,000 international runs. He is the 6th batter to score 17,000 runs or more for India and the 7th Indian batter to go past the landmark. Virender Sehwag has scored 17,253 runs in international cricket and 16,892 for India with the remainder of his tally coming for ICC and Asia-selected teams.
