After 80K tests, there are 8,037 new COVID-19 cases in Kerala; the TPR falls slightly to 10.03.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 8,037 new COVID-19 cases on Monday after testing 80,134 samples, lowering the Test Positivity Rate to 10.03 percent. The previous day, it was 10.25 percent.

With 11,346 more recovering from the infection, the state’s active patient population has dropped to 1,00,626, according to health Minister Veena George in a press release.

With 102 more deaths confirmed as a result of the disease, Kerala’s death toll now stands at 13,818. Despite the fact that more deaths have been reported, the state has yet to identify them as COVID deaths. The National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha is conducting tests.

The virus was contracted by contact in 7,361 of the new cases, while 15 came from outside the state. The source of infection for 624 of the contact cases has yet to be identified.

There are 37 new cases involving health workers.

So far, the state has reported 29,81,721 COVID-19 cases. 28,66,806 of them survived.
