Black plum is one of the best home remedy for diabetics :Says nutritionists

Black plum, is one of the most loved summer fruits. The fruit comes from an evergreen tropical tree in the flowering plant family, Myrtaceae, which is usually grown in India, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

Besides its amazing tangy taste, they are also known to fight various lifestyle diseases like diabetes. Nutritionists and health experts recommend consuming black plum as a part of managing diabetes.

Health benefits

Black plums are rich in fibre, which is not easily digested by the body. It enables slow release of sugar in our bloodstream, keeping blood sugar in control.

Moreover, It contains substances called jamboline and jambosine – both of which are known to delay the release of sugar into the blood.

For diabetics, snacking on black plum is a great option in summers. As per the findings of a recent study (published in Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine).

It extracts helped reduce blood glucose level and also regulated the insulin levels in hyperglycaemic rats. It was observed that the fruit has powerful prophylactic role against hyperglycaemia.
