Global Participation Marks the Commencement of Fourth Loka Kerala Sabha Today

The 4th Loka Kerala Sabha, organized by the state government, will commence today and conclude tomorrow. The event, held at Sankaranarayan Thambi Hall in the legislative assembly, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at 3 pm. The session will begin with condolences for the victims of the recent Kuwait accident.

Delegates from 103 countries and 25 states will participate in the event. Initially scheduled for the morning, the inauguration was postponed to the afternoon due to ministers and officials traveling to Kochi to receive the bodies of those who died in the Kuwait disaster. Delegate registration starts at 8:30 am.

The Loka Kerala Sabha will focus on eight key issues concerning non-resident Keralites. The topics for discussion include the Emigration Draft Bill 2021, foreign recruitment programs, sustainable resettlement, migration security, employment and skill development for the diaspora, new paradigms for Kerala’s development, changes in labor migration laws, and the transition to a knowledge economy.

The event will feature sectoral themes such as the Gulf, Asia Pacific, Europe and the UK, America, Africa, non-Indian states, and the returned diaspora. Over 200 special invitees, along with members of parliament and the legislature, will also attend the Sabha.
