PM Modi’s Upcoming Visit to J&K: Major Development Projects and Celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on June 20 and 21, marking his first visit after securing his third term in office. This visit comes amid speculations of imminent Assembly elections. During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects worth Rs 3,300 crore.

The projects include 84 initiatives with a total outlay of over Rs 1,500 crore, covering road development, water supply, and higher education infrastructure. These will be highlighted at the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ program at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC) in Srinagar at 6 pm. Additionally, the foundation stone for the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section, which connects Jammu and Srinagar, will be laid, along with plans for developing industrial estates and constructing government degree colleges.

Furthermore, PM Modi will announce Rs 1,800 crore worth of JKCIP schemes aimed at enhancing competitiveness in agriculture and allied sectors. He will also distribute appointment letters to over 2,000 newly appointed government employees.

In conjunction with these activities, the Prime Minister will preside over the International Yoga Day celebrations at SKICC, Srinagar, at 6:30 am on June 21, marking the 10th International Day of Yoga.
