Tribal Students Forced to Strip in Attappadi Girls’ Hostel Sparks Outrage

In a deeply distressing incident reported from the Attappadi region in Kerala, four tribal students were subjected to a humiliating ordeal at a pre-matric girls’ hostel. The incident occurred on September 22, when the girls were allegedly forced to undress in front of their fellow classmates.

The complaint was brought to the attention of the police by the parents of the affected students, who were understandably distraught upon learning of the incident. The police swiftly registered a case against the hostel warden, a staff member, and a counselor in connection with the distressing event. The accused individuals have been identified as Athira, Kausalya, Kasthuri, and Suja.

The shocking incident unfolded when the hostel authorities issued instructions to the students not to exchange clothes. The reason cited for this directive was the presence of skin diseases among some of the girls. Those who were found violating this instruction were reportedly asked to remove their clothes and put on their own.

This disturbing episode has left the tribal students deeply traumatized, causing them significant emotional pain and humiliation. The investigation into the matter has been initiated by the Sholayur police to uncover the full extent of what transpired and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and dignity of all students, regardless of their background or circumstances. It highlights the need for vigilant oversight and proper training for hostel staff to prevent such distressing incidents from occurring in the future.
