The Sena-BJP relationship is similar to that of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao: Sanjay Raut.

The Shiv Sena has issued a similar message a day after BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis stated that his party and the Shiv Sena are “not enemies.”

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Monday that his party’s relationship with former ally BJP is more akin to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and his filmmaker wife Kiran Rao, who recently announced their divorce.

Raut stated, “The Shiv Sena and the BJP are not the same as India and Pakistan. It’s similar to Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. Our political views differ, but our friendship will endure.”

The Bollywood actor recently announced his divorce, but he and Kiran say they want to start a new chapter as co-parents and family for each other.

Raut’s comments come a day after Fadnavis sparked speculation by saying that the two parties are not enemies, despite differences of opinion on specific issues.

The BJP, on the other hand, downplayed the remarks, with senior leaders stating that Fadnavis’ statement did not imply that both parties would form a government.

To recall, the former allies split after the Maharashtra assembly elections over the position of chief minister. The Sena had staked a claim on the position, which the BJP refused to relinquish. The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government was formed after Uddhav Thackeray’s party joined forces with Sharad Pawar’s NCP and the Congress.

However, the adversaries have frequently come forward to demonstrate signs of old friendship.

Sanjay Raut has previously stated that, despite political and ideological differences, if the two parties come face to face at public functions, they will greet each other warmly.
