Peranbu – Movie Review

Mammootty mesmerizes again with another flawless performance

When the Mega Star Mammootty, Ram, director of the most critically acclaimed movie, of 2007- ‘katradhu tamizh’ and Yuvan Shankar Raja united, an Epic treat for all movie lovers is here.

A movie which flows like a gentle river. It is paving its way through the huge rocks and mountains. Quite a new method of storytelling. It compares the harsh truths of human lives with a totally different expression of the nature.

An actor who has won multiple national awards, Mammootty, has played his part perfectly as the protagonist. He is undoubtedly a genius actor and it is proved yet again in Peranbu.

When the subtle movements of his eyelids, lips and even fingertips enacts the emotions so perfectly, it’s the eyes of the spectators that get filled with tears.

Sadhana, the actress doing the leading role is living as the character in this movie and who knows, may be some national awards can be on her way as well.

Literally the long wait for this film was worth it, and shows that some yearnings can be for perfection. Some living examples we see in front of us may not affect us, may be because we are not the characters in that story. While watching this movie, if you feel like crying, it means that you have become the characters in this movie.

Blurred colours and silence speaks a lot in this movie. There is a pale face to the character and development of the story, which is necessary. There are many highly emotional situations that comes and goes in this story. That affects the viewer a lot.

The background records are just magnificent. Along with some cherishing and amazingly beautiful songs, graceful moves of the camera gives a delightful experience. A big salute to the director Ram, for making all the characters equally alive on the screen. We are waiting eagerly for the next national awards results.
