Bengaluru, October 16, 2026: Toronto-headquartered GeoAI and artificial intelligence company Deepspatial (CSE: DSAI | OTCQB: DSAIF), which also operates in India, has signed two strategic agreements with Indian organisations during the Team Canada Trade Mission to India. The agreements aim to strengthen geospatial technology research, develop emerging talent and integrate credible journalism into student learning.
The company signed one agreement with the IIT Tirupati Navavishkar I-Hub Foundation (IITTNiF), the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Tirupati, and another with Greynium Information Technologies Private Limited, the company behind the digital news platform OneIndia.
The agreements were signed in Bengaluru in the presence of Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, who led a delegation of nearly 300 Canadian representatives to Mumbai and Bengaluru.
According to Global Affairs Canada, the trade mission resulted in 34 commercial agreements, partnerships and investment announcements between Canadian and Indian organisations, with an estimated combined value of nearly C$300 million. Both Deepspatial partnerships were included in the official mission factsheet under the information and communications technology sector.
Strengthening GeoAI Research and Innovation With IIT Tirupati
Under its agreement with IITTNiF, Deepspatial will collaborate with the innovation hub on geospatial technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), positioning systems and Spatial AI. The partnership will focus on joint research and development, talent development, technology commercialisation, startup incubation and stronger engagement between industry and academia.
A key initiative under the collaboration is Xploor, Deepspatial’s global GeoAI mentorship programme, which will be introduced through the SPIN Labs network. The programme aims to provide students and early-career professionals with hands-on exposure to GeoAI, artificial intelligence and data science by connecting them with real-world location-intelligence challenges.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Roshan K. Srivastav, Project Director of the Technology Innovation Hub at IITTNiF, and Dr. Rahul Kushwah, Founder and CEO of Deepspatial. Tulika Saha, Senior Executive Assistant at IITTNiF, and Saurabh Tyagi, Chief Marketing Officer at Deepspatial, were also present.
Dr. Srivastav said the partnership would help bridge the gap between research and industry while advancing India-Canada cooperation in emerging technologies. He highlighted the collaboration’s potential to accelerate technology development and commercialisation while creating opportunities for startups, researchers and young innovators.
He added that IITTNiF aims to translate research into practical capabilities and looks forward to developing impactful geospatial and Spatial AI solutions through the partnership.
OneIndia Partnership to Bring Credible Journalism Into Classrooms
Deepspatial’s second agreement with Greynium Information Technologies will bring OneIndia’s daily news and current-affairs content to edskExpress, the company’s student learning and media-literacy platform.
The initiative aims to help students engage with real-world developments while building informed reading habits, critical-thinking skills and media literacy. Through the edskExpress model, students will have opportunities to explore credible news, question information, deepen their understanding of current affairs and report on issues affecting their own communities.
The agreement was signed by Ravanan N., Chief Executive Officer of OneIndia, and Dr. Rahul Kushwah. James PJ, Senior Director of Content Strategy and Monetization at OneIndia, and Saurabh Tyagi of Deepspatial also attended the signing.
Ravanan said the collaboration would extend credible journalism beyond newsrooms and into classrooms, helping young readers understand positive developments and the people driving change.
He emphasised that students would not only engage with established journalism but also learn to question information and report their own stories, encouraging a stronger connection between media literacy and community impact.
Deepspatial’s Vision for Technology-Driven Decision Intelligence
Commenting on the agreements, Dr. Rahul Kushwah said the partnerships represented an important milestone in the company’s strategy to scale GeoAI-powered decision intelligence and develop technology solutions with practical, real-world applications.
He noted that the collaboration with IITTNiF would strengthen Deepspatial’s research, innovation and talent-development ecosystem, while the OneIndia partnership would expand the role of credible content and digital media literacy in student learning through edskExpress.
According to Kushwah, the agreements reflect the company’s broader ambition to bring together technology, institutional expertise and industry partnerships to develop scalable solutions across sectors. He added that Deepspatial would continue to expand its presence in India while exploring opportunities in international markets.
Team Canada Trade Mission Delivers 34 Commercial Agreements
Global Affairs Canada described the visit as the largest Team Canada trade mission to India in 30 years. The mission produced 34 agreements, including 11 signed in Mumbai and 23 in Bengaluru, spanning aerospace and space, clean technology, energy transition, education, information and communications technology, infrastructure, life sciences and tourism.
Participating Indian organisations included Tata Projects, GMR Aero Technic, Adani Ports and SEZ, KPMG India, Aditya Birla Insulators and Apollo Health Resources. Academic institutions such as IIT Tirupati, IISER Tirupati and IIT Roorkee were also represented.
The mission forms part of Canada’s broader trade-diversification strategy. During the visit, Minister Sidhu met India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, to advance discussions towards a Canada-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Sidhu said the 34 commercial agreements, valued at nearly C$300 million, would help Canadian businesses establish valuable connections across sectors including energy, critical minerals and aerospace. He added that the partnerships would support a stronger long-term relationship between Canada and India while creating opportunities for businesses and workers in both countries.
Building Global Opportunities Through India-Based Partnerships
Saurabh Tyagi, Chief Marketing Officer of Deepspatial, said the agreements advance two complementary priorities in the company’s growth strategy: strengthening GeoAI research, talent development and commercialisation through IIT Tirupati, and expanding edskExpress through OneIndia’s content capabilities and reach.
He described the trade mission as an important platform for converting the company’s vision into strategic collaborations. Deepspatial plans to build on these partnerships by developing scalable programmes, expanding its institutional and industry network, and creating opportunities to introduce its technology and education initiatives to wider markets.
Deepspatial develops platforms that apply GeoAI and AI-powered decision intelligence across sectors including education, agriculture and food security, climate and disaster response, and infrastructure planning.
Through collaboration with research institutions, technology organisations and content providers, the company aims to strengthen its capabilities, develop emerging talent and expand the international reach of Canadian-developed technology.
The agreements with IITTNiF and OneIndia represent complementary approaches to this strategy, combining advanced geospatial research with education and media literacy to support innovation and create opportunities for collaboration between Canada and India.
