Kannur: KIMS Sreechand Hospital authorities have lodged a complaint with the police alleging that certain individuals disrupted the smooth functioning of the hospital and created a tense situation on the premises.
The complaint, filed by Assistant Manager Muhammad Nabeel P on behalf of the hospital authorities, alleges that false and misleading information against the hospital was circulated through social media platforms and other media outlets.
According to the complaint, a group of people allegedly gathered on the hospital premises and behaved in a manner that intimidated hospital staff and officials, while also disrupting the institution’s normal operations.
The hospital authorities stated that the incident caused inconvenience and anxiety among patients, bystanders and employees and adversely affected the hospital’s functioning.
The complaint further alleges that false and misleading information was circulated through various social media platforms and other media, allegedly with the intention of damaging the hospital’s reputation and credibility.
Citing financial losses, disruption to operations and damage to the institution’s image and reputation, the hospital has sought ₹50 lakh in compensation. The complaint also requests that legal steps be taken to recover the compensation from the individuals or organisations allegedly responsible.
The hospital authorities have informed the police that relevant evidence, including CCTV footage, photographs, videos and copies of social media posts, will be handed over to the investigating officers at the appropriate stage of the investigation.
The complaint calls for a comprehensive investigation into the incident and legal action against those allegedly responsible for disrupting the hospital’s functioning, creating a tense atmosphere on the premises and spreading false or misleading information against the institution.
