Google Photos introduces a Memories collection for users in 2021

New Delhi: Have you been storing your images on Google Photos already? If you haven’t already, you might see the “Best of 2021” Memories collection of photos soon, according to a 9To5Google report.

As you load the app, the AI will choose photographs from January of this year that it believes are relevant enough to be included in this collection and display them.

The photographs, according to the report, are displayed without a specific date order, and some of them may not be the ones you want to see in a collection like this. Google has doubled the number of Memories collections this year, with more targeted personalizations for users. This results in photo stories that appear on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis at the top of the Photos app.

If you’ve stopped backing up your images on Google Photos, certain photo collections, such as those from a year, two years, or even three years ago, may still appear at the top, depending on how long you’ve been backing up your photos.

Regardless of how the AI selects the photos, if you’ve been uploading the majority of your smartphone photos to the Photos app this year, you should look through the collection. You might be surprised if the app brings up a favourite memory from the previous year.
