Congress to Launch “Samaragni” March in Kerala on January 21

The Congress party in Kerala is gearing up to launch a statewide “Samaragni” march, led by KPCC president K Sudhakaran and opposition leader VD Satheesan. Scheduled to commence from Kasaragod district on January 21, the march is expected to span across all 140 assembly constituencies in the state, concluding in Thiruvananthapuram by the end of February 2024. As part of the preparations, district-level meetings will be conducted next week. The Congress is also focusing on gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, planning to establish 20 war rooms across the state in preparation for the national elections.

In addition to political preparations, the party has decided to organize a significant women’s gathering in Vandiperiyar, advocating for justice for the family of a six-year-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered in the region. The event aims to call for stringent action against the perpetrator, addressing the pressing issue of crimes against children. This move reflects the Congress’s commitment to both political mobilization and social justice concerns in the state of Kerala.
