Prime Minister Modi’s Visit Alters Guruvayur Temple Schedule and Offerings

The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Guruvayur has prompted changes in the schedule of marriage ceremonies at the temple on January 17. Out of the originally planned 65 marriage ceremonies, 39 will now take place between 5 am and 6 am, with the remaining scheduled after 9:30 am. In light of the visit, strict restrictions will be enforced from 6 am to 9 am, affecting offerings such as ‘choroonnu’ and ‘thulabharam’. Maximum attendance per wedding group is capped at 20 individuals, with attendees required to obtain a pass from the police by submitting a photograph and a copy of their ID card.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kerala on January 16 and 17 will include a roadshow in Kochi, attendance at actor Suresh Gopi’s daughter’s wedding in Guruvayur, and various official engagements. The roadshow in Kochi is scheduled to start at 6 pm on January 16, while PM Modi will visit Guruvayur the next day. Following his visit to Guruvayur, he will inaugurate the International Ship Repair Facility and Dry Dock at Cochin Shipyard in Willingdon Island and address a meeting of the ‘Shaktikendra,’ BJP’s booth-level organizational committee in the state, at Marine Drive. PM Modi is expected to return to Delhi after these engagements.
