Banks will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays; places of worship will be open.

The Kerala government announced additional relaxations in lockdown regulations on Tuesday, while warning the public about a possible third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new relaxations would take effect on Thursday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said at a press conference following a review meeting here.
According to the Chief Minister, the disease’s spread in the state is on the decline.

According to the new guidelines, banks will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but the public will not be able to visit the branches on these days.
“All government institutions and banks in Category A and B will be permitted to employ up to 50% of their workforce, while all government institutions in Category C will be permitted to employ up to 25% of their workforce.
Places of worship can be opened, but only for a maximum of 15 people at a time.
However, liquor stores in local governments bordering Tamil Nadu will remain closed due to the state’s lockdown “Vijayan stated.

There are currently 277 local bodies in Kerala with an average Test Positivity Rate of less than 8% in the last seven days (A Category), 575 with an 8-16% TPR (B Category), 171 with a 16-24% TPR (C Category), and 11 LSG bodies with a TPR of more than 24% (D Category).

Lockdown restrictions are being relaxed in A and B Category local governments.
“Full lockdown will continue to be enforced across the state on weekends,” Vijayan said.
He stated that classes for medical students will begin on July 1 because they have been immunised.
“Those aged 18 to 23 will be treated as a special category for vaccination.” This will allow regular colleges to be established for them, according to the Chief Minister.

He stated that continuous genetic sequencing is being used to detect and study coronavirus genetic variation.
The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Biotechnology and Kozhikode Medical College are leading the research.
Furthermore, the Institute of Genomics and Integrated Biology is conducting research into this, according to Vijayan.
He also stated that the Kerala State Pravasi Welfare Development Co-operative Society, in collaboration with HLL LifeCare Limited, is preparing to open COVIDP-19 Molecular Testing Laboratories at all four airports in the state to facilitate expatriate travel.
