Exploring Paradise: Vande Bharat to Introduce Service to Kashmir and Northeast India

Kashmir, often referred to as ‘heaven on earth,’ has undergone a transformation, enticing tourists from all corners of the world. Despite its unparalleled beauty, Kashmir was marred by security concerns and the fear of terrorist attacks, deterring visitors. However, recent years have witnessed a surge in tourists, making it a sought-after destination. In response to this growing interest, the Indian government plans to launch a Vande Bharat service to Kashmir next year.

This new rail service aims to connect the enchanting region of Kashmir with the rest of India. The Jammu-Srinagar route, once electrification is completed, will facilitate the smooth operation of Vande Bharat trains. Specially designed coaches, equipped with heating systems to combat the icy weather of Kashmir, promise a comfortable travel experience. These coaches are being manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.

The introduction of Vande Bharat to Kashmir is part of a broader plan that extends its services to the northeastern states, specifically Tripura and Meghalaya. In the upcoming financial year, travelers in these regions can anticipate the arrival of the Vande Bharat service. The trains will feature Executive AC Chaircar and AC Chaircar seating systems, catering to the diverse needs of passengers.

This development not only signifies enhanced connectivity but also represents a significant step in boosting tourism, bridging cultures, and fostering economic growth in these picturesque regions.
