P.C. George’s Political Move: Kerala Janapaksham Leader Set to Join BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

In an unexpected turn of events, P.C. George, the leader of Kerala Janapaksham (Secular), is poised to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The seasoned politician, known for his past affiliations and strategic shifts, is scheduled to engage in talks with BJP leaders in New Delhi today. Initial speculations hinted at George’s interest in contesting from the Pathanamthitta or Kottayam seats as a candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, the BJP leadership has reportedly urged him to formally sever ties with Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) and align with the BJP. This move comes after George’s brief association with the NDA in 2018, sparked by the Sabarimala protests, which he later terminated in 2019, citing concerns about the BJP’s stance on minorities and secularism.
