SFI Workers Stage Black Flag Protest Against Governor; Accuse Police of Security Lapse

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) intensified its opposition against Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, alleging that he is attempting to transform universities into centers aligned with the Sangh Parivar ideology. The protest unfolded as the Governor attended an event near the Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner’s office. PM Arsho, the SFI state secretary, issued a stern warning that the demonstrations would escalate unless the Governor altered his approach.

Police intervened by arresting and removing the protestors, including SFI district president MK Nandan and secretary SK Adarsh. The arrested individuals were taken to the AR Police Camp in Nandavanam and later released on bail. Interestingly, there were prior intelligence warnings indicating a potential SFI protest against the Governor. However, despite this alert, accusations arose that the police failed to adequately secure the Governor during the protest.

The incident highlights the escalating tensions between student activists and political figures, raising concerns about security measures and the potential for further confrontations in the future.
