Police Arrest Seven in Gambling Bust at Trivandrum Club

The Thiruvananthapuram Museum police apprehended seven individuals involved in illegal gambling at the Trivandrum Club, a prominent establishment in the capital city. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided quarters number 5 of the club at 7 p.m., where the group was engaged in playing cards with money. The raid resulted in the seizure of Rs 5.6 lakh in cash from the suspects.

The room where the illegal activities were taking place was registered under the name of SR Vinayakumar, the Managing Director of United Electrical Industries and the brother-in-law of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. However, Vinayakumar denied any knowledge of the individuals using the room for gambling. The police also inspected the car in which the suspects arrived, furthering their investigation into the case.

The identities of the arrested individuals have not been released by the police. This incident highlights the law enforcement’s vigilance in curbing illegal activities within social clubs and serves as a warning to those engaging in such practices. Further legal actions are expected as the investigation unfolds.
