Low-Pressure System Spurs Heavy Rain Predictions in Kerala, Yellow Alert Issued

Kerala is expected to experience heavy rainfall for the next five days due to a low-pressure area situated in the northwestern part of the Bay of Bengal, near the coast of West Bengal and Odisha. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this weather system is likely to shift towards Jharkhand in the coming two days.

A yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasargod today, and an additional alert has been declared for Idukki, Kozhikode, Kasaragod, and Kannur districts for tomorrow. These regions are anticipated to receive sporadic heavy rainfall.

The IMD has also stated that certain areas in Kerala may experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning today and tomorrow. Additionally, strong winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected to sweep across the state.
